Spring Tuesday dates:

03/17
03/31
04/14

Everyone, whether new or a "regular" volunteer, is invited to join us in the work and share the harvest. We are planting several new fruit trees this winter.
On the first Sunday of each month we'll be at the Ahwatukee farmer's market located beside the garden from 9:00 to 1:00 answering questions and giving garden tours and mini-seminars on fall planting, keyhole gardens, composting, and ornithology.

From Master Gardener Linda:
We'll be there on all Sunday mornings starting at 9ish.
Congratulations to Bill and Kelly who completed the Master Gardener training through the U of A Extension on November 4th!
Thank you to the Sunshine Woodworkers at the ARC for building us a tool storage box. If you have extra garden tools you'd like to donate we will now have a place to store them.
Boy Scouts from Troop 375 completed an Eagle Scout Project with Nathan Hess in the fall. They built a fence and painted it near our new keyhole gardens.
If you want to know what to do with all your brown leaves, we need browns for compost. Drop your bagged leaves by the garden.
Thank you
to Francis and the Sunshine Woodworkers. They have made us a 2 'x 2' x 6' foot bench/box for tools. We greatly appreciate it!
Boy Scout Projects
Nathan Hess did his Eagle Scout Project for us, building a wall in
our keyhole garden area on the west slope so we can plant vegetables on the slope. Thank you, Nathan!
Mini-workshops:
Let us know your gardening interests and we'll work on adding it to our mini-workshops presented at our Farmer's Market booth the first Sunday of each month.
What's Growing in the Garden:
The keyhole had cinnamon and Indian Krishna Basil as well as lots of Italian and African Blue Basil until the frosty nights in January. We have been harvesting zucchini, squash, Swiss chard, lettuce, lemon grass, spinach, and cabbage.
The empty spaces in the beds and the two keyholes were filled with fall crops on September 28th.
Take home some produce as it's available!
Free Seeds:
Come by to the Sunday work days in for seeds from the seed library to start your home fall garden. Also, if you need seeds for the Garden of Eatin', ELLA, the Pecos Senior Center, or other neighborhood projects.
Check with us.!
