From Linda Rominger, Garden Coordinator

Happy February

I waited to send out the February Newsletter because all the above transplants are usually safe to plant after Valentine's Day, though frost was really not an issue this year.
Now we can start transplanting tomatoes and peppers, etc. We're trying some lovely starts from a neighbor in Tempe.  We'll compare those tomatoes to an heirloom from a big box store, and some volunteers, this season.  A little late to plant most leafy greens.  You'll notice bok choy starting to bolt along with the lettuce.
It's also time to fertilize citrus.

Important dates for February

Monthly meeting at 2 P.M. at Hillside on Tuesday, February 21st.

Herb Spiral Build 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. or so on Saturday, Feb. 25th.
with our Boy Scout, Lucas, for his Eagle Scout project.
Likely the irrigation will get started at the beginning as the boys are moving the dirt pile and leveling the location. Lucas and family will likely arrive around 9:30 A.M.  to get things ready. Bill Felton will be there from the garden.

The sign up genius for Herb Spiral Garden volunteers is attached and all are welcome
