June Gardening

The grapes are ripening and taste very sweet at the Ahwatukee Community Garden!
Bob Koherly fastens the white tool fabric over some tomato plants fo keep the birds from eating them. On the wire arch above him is the black 40% shade cloth to keep the plants from burning up. 
Tomatoes are ripening, as well as curved Armenian cukes, and squash. The corn sports a bright orange tassel next to the thriving lemon grass. 
Blue bachelor button flowers are still blooming. We're letting some of our parsley go to seed so we can harvest the seeds.
Bob checks one of our three keyhole gardens filled with squash, basil, and tomatoes. 
Succulent spinach grows in a black plastic pot in the last photo. 
Come join us any Sunday from 7 - 8 a.m. and then visit the 60 or so booths at the next door Farmer's Market!
